Deploying XMPie server products in Microsoft Azure Cloud
Summary: This article describes how to configure the Azure Cloud service to run XMPie software.
Audience: XMPie customers who wish to run XMPie Server products using the Azure Cloud service.
Deploying XMPie Server using the Azure Cloud service is similar to deployment in virtual machine environments.
However, the Azure Cloud service infrastructure imposes several limitations that should be taken into consideration prior to deploying XMPie products:
-
Our VM recommendations must comply with Azure's instance specifications.
-
Each Azure instance must include a dedicated Azure managed disk.
-
Print production is possible but the network connectivity/bandwidth might be a bottleneck when sending a print job from uProduce to the physical printer. See Virtual machine network bandwidth.
-
By default, configuration of the Azure network security groups prohibits any traffic. Therefore, the security groups must be set up to use ports that are authorized to access your XMPie server instances. See Create, change, or delete a network security group.
-
Notice! XMPie supports a dedicated Microsoft SQL server installed on an Azure virtual machine. It does not support Azure SQL managed instance and Azure SQL Database. See What is Azure SQL?
