XMPie Production Units (Clicks)

TThe PersonalEffect Turn-Key Solutions are offered in two license or price models:

  • Full license (unlimited)

  • Production unit usage license

Note: The production units (also called "clicks") expire 1 year after activation. Additional production unit licenses can be activated at any time. If two production unit licenses are active at the same time, production units will be decremented from the license that was first installed, until the license has expired, or no production units remain on that license.

Proof production

Proof production does not incur any production unit charges.

Print production

The calculation of production units for print production depends on the printed document size.

Two facing US-Letter-size (8.5 x 11 inch) pages with 0.5 inch bleed is equivalent to 1 click or one production unit.

This is the single click area or print area that consumes one click.

For documents of different sizes, the cost in clicks is calculated like this:

Cross-media production

For PersonalEffect TransMedia servers using a production unit license, production units are also consumed for cross media production at these rates:

  • Email Send (either mass or triggered) = 0.5 or half a production unit per recipient

  • Personalized Page View = 0.0625 or 1/16 of a production unit per recipient.

  • Update or insert of recipient data = 0.125 or 1/8 of a production unit per recipient.

  • Update/insert of recipient data + response email = approx. 0.75 or ¾ of a production unit per recipient.

Reviewing production unit charges

From version 25.2, the click charge for each job is listed in the uProduce Job Center. Even if the server has a full unlimited license, the clicks used for each job are displayed since this information may be of use when billing the end customer. In the case of unlimited licensed servers, the clicks will be noted as "(not charged)".
