Creating a Plan

Plans are created in one of the following ways:

  • Using the Plan wizard to create a plan based on a data source: a plan defines the structure of the data sources needed to drive the campaign. The Plan wizard allows you to create a plan and import the required data source structure into this plan. You can import either a single table, a single data source or multiple data sources. See Creating a Plan using the uPlan Wizard.

  • Creating an empty plan: create a blank plan and manually define its components. See Creating a Blank Plan.

To create a plan:

  1. Open the uPlan application.

  2. From the menu bar, select File > New.

The New Plan dialog is displayed.

  3. Select one of the available options:

    • Choose Blank Plan to create an empty plan. You are then required to manually define all plan objects.

    • Choose Single Table Plan Wizard to create a plan by importing the structure of a single table data source.

    • Choose Single Data Source Plan Wizard to create a plan by importing the structure of a single data source, which may include more than one table.

    • Choose Multiple Data Sources Plan Wizard to create a plan by importing the structure of multiple data sources.

  4. If you chose one of the Wizard options, the dialogs displayed will guide you through the creation of your plan.
