Enabling Store-Friendly URL

Enabling store-friendly URLs is done in Store Setting > Set up Store >General tab.

  1. In the General section, select Enable Store-Friendly URL to enable a friendly URL for accessing the store.

  2. Specify the following:

    • Store Domain: The domain name of the server on which uStore is installed or the domain name of the Proxy server behind which uStore is located.
      If you are a StoreFlow Cloud customer, choose a store domain from the list provided to by Support. To add a new domain, contact Support.

    • Store Folder (optional): A user-friendly name for the folder containing this store (for example, "MyStore").

      Both the store domain and the store folder must comply with the restrictions listed below.

Store domain and store folder restrictions

The values you enter must comply with the following restrictions. If they do not, uStore displays an error message when you save the store settings, and the settings are not saved.

  • Store Domain

    • A store domain must be specified. Otherwise, the error "Friendly URL is missing" is displayed.

    • The domain cannot contain the "@" character. Otherwise, the error "The store domain contains an illegal character." is displayed.

    • The domain cannot contain spaces. Otherwise, the error "Store Domain cannot contain white spaces." is displayed.

  • Store Folder

    • The folder cannot contain the "@" character. Otherwise, the error "The store folder contains an illegal character." is displayed.

    • The folder cannot contain spaces. Otherwise, the error "Store Folder cannot contain white spaces." is displayed.

    • The folder cannot contain any of the following reserved uStore application names: uStoreThemes, uStoreThemeCustomizations, uStoreRestAPI. This applies to any letter case, and also when the reserved name is only part of a longer name (for example, "MyuStoreThemesShop"). Otherwise, the error "Friendly URL is already in use" is displayed.

    • The folder cannot begin with a two-letter code followed by a hyphen and additional letters (for example, "en-US" or "my-store"). Otherwise, the error "Friendly URL is already in use" is displayed.

    • The folder cannot exceed 100 characters.

  • Store Domain and Store Folder combination

    • The combination of store domain and store folder must be unique for each store. In addition, if another store already uses the same store domain without a store folder, that domain cannot be used again, with or without a folder. Otherwise, the error "Friendly URL is already in use" is displayed.

Note that a browser's autofill feature may insert an email address into either of these fields, which introduces the "@" character.

Notes:

  • When entering www.StoreDomain.com in the Store Domain text box, StoreDomain.com is also accessible.

  • When entering only the store domain, the Store URL appears as: www.StoreDomain.com

  • When entering both the store domain and the folder, the Store URL appears as: www.StoreDomain.com/StoreFolder

  • When entering only the store domain, make sure this domain is not used for other stores.

  • If you are using a proxy server, follow the instructions provided for the Proxy Setup utility after you place the store online.

  • In case of NG stores, if uStore is installed on a server on the LAN (not behind a proxy server), after logging into the store, the URL will not be friendly. To enable a friendly URL Helicon Full version must be installed on the uStore server. Helicon Full can be downloaded from uProduce > Settings > RURL Proxy Utils.

  • Authorize.net does not support any domains with more than 6 characters after the "."

    For example, https//:xmpie.training will not work.
